Finances start with a Business Plan, followed with Fundraising and Sponsorship.
The Business Plan: We are constantly writing and editing our Business Plan. This Business Plan informs potential and reoccurring sponsors of our financial needs and what we hope to accomplish with their financial donations. Our Executive Summary, within our Business Plan, summarizes what FIRST Team 1710 is about and what we plan to accomplish. We also use our Executive Summary to compete for the Regional Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Entrepreneurship Award, during Pit Inspection at the Regional Competition.

Sponsorship: Team 1710 works with the companies throughout our community, building strong relationships that are maintained through electronic updates sent every other month. Sponsors help generate the money that allow us to go to competition; many also participate as mentors in Business, Engineering and Technical support. This unique opportunity allows them to see the passion of FIRST up close and at work. We can't say enough how grateful we are for our Sponsors; they are foundational to our teams success. Without them, we would not be the FIRST Team we are today.

Fundraising: Our most successful individual fundraising opportunity is our Applebee's Pancake Breakfast, this year we raised over $2000. Applebee's graciously allows our FIRST Team to use their facility, to cook and serve for this event. We sell Breakfast tickets in the fall, to friends, family members, neighbors in the community. This event is not solely about raising fund but also an opportunity to share with the community who FIRST is. As we serve their delicious pancake breakfasts, we have the opportunity to share with them who Team 1710 is, and how excited we are about FIRST and the impact they have in science, technology and engineering with their robotics competitions.
